Between 1997 and 2012, Serap Yazıcı served as faculty member at Bilgi University, Faculty of Law. She became a professor at Bilgi University's Faculty of Law in recognition of her studies “Demokratikleşme Sürecinde Türkiye” (Democratic Transition in Turkey) and “Yeni Bir Anayasa Hazırlığı ve Türkiye: Seçkincilikten Toplum Sözleşmesine” (''Penning A New Constitution for Turkey: From Elitism to the Social Contract''). Since August 2012 she is a faculty member  at İstanbul Şehir University, Faculty of Law. On September 21, 2012, she was selected by the President of the Republic to the membership of Turkish Human Rights Council.
