Ladin Company in 1997, Özdemir cultivates, markets, and does landscaping with nurslings and ornamental plants. She has been actively involved in the environmental movement and was the President of the Environmental Protection Society of the Hatay province (1998-2006). She was a co-founding the Greens Party and a member of the Party Assembly. Özdemir is currently President of the Hatay Laurel Association of Medical Aromatic Plants and Return to Nature. She is married with two children.
