Born in 1975 in İzmit, Merve Erol graduated from Marmara University's Faculty of Communications and received his master's degree from the Communication Studies department of the same school. He worked at the magazines Express, Roll, Bir+Bir and did freelance work for various magazines, newspapers and publishing houses.
