Received his PhD degree from the Department of Modern History of Turkey at Boğaziçi University in 2014 with the dissertation “Politics in Concrete: Social Production of Space in Diyarbakır, 1999-2014”. The research he carried out with Ferhat Kentel and Meltem Ahıska was published as a book in 2007 with the title, ‘Milletin Bölünmez Bütünlüğü’: Demokratikleşme Sürecinde Parçalayan Milliyetçilikler [Indivisible Unity of the Nation: Nationalisms that Shatter in the Process of Democratization]. In addition to his academic studies, his articles on urbanization and social movements were published in several journals. He did social science translations into Turkish from English and Italian.
