Fethiye Çetin

Born in Maden, Elazığ in 1950, Fethiye Çetin graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Law. She served as board member at Istanbul Bar Association’s Human Rights Center, and founded the monitoring group named History for Peace, which aims to change the racist and discriminatory content of textbooks.

Çetin›s book “My Grandmother” (2004) was translated to 10 languages including Eastern and Western Armenian. Her book ‘’The Grandchildren’’ (2009) co-written with Ayşe Gül Altınay was translated to French and English. Her book on the Hrant Dink murder, entitled “Utanç Duyuyorum” (I Feel Shame) was released in September 2013. She was Hrant Dink’s lawyer, and is now the lawyer for the Dink family and the Hrant Dink Foundation.
