Didem Yılmaz obtained her LLM and PhD degrees in public law from Galatasaray University. Her researches are focused on positive discrimination and electoral management and control bodies. The mechanisms which strengthen the legislative body and the status of the political opposition in comparative constitutional law are the main field of her postdoctoral research.

Beside the academic research, she works as associate professor of constitutional law at Bahçeşehir University, Faculty of law. She is a member of the executive committee of KHP and vice-president of the Research Association of Constitutional Law in Turkey.
