Corinna Κanistra studied Linguistics and Literature at the University of Paris III in Sorbonne and then continued her studies in Literature as a PhD candidate and fellow at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Between 2012 and 2021 she worked as Head of Mission, in the Middle East and Greece for International, Swiss based, non-profit Organizations, on various humanitarian projects. She emphasized on health and advocacy programs with a special focus on migration, access to health, International, Humanitarian and Human Rights law.
Since November 2021 she joined the Heinrich Böll Foundation team and she has been coordinating the Democracy and Ecology program, with a focus on Bulgaria.
