is Vice Rector and International Relations Department Faculty Member of Eastern Mediterranean University. He attained his PhD degree at the Missouri-Columbia University with his thesis on Cyprus negotiations. His area of expertise is dispute resolution and techniques of negotiation. Prof. Dr. Sözen was a member of Turkish Cypriot negotiation committee during the Cyprus negotiations which started in 2008. Throughout the last 20 years he wrote numerous scientific articles on the Cyprus dispute and negotiations. Some of his relevant publications are The Cyprus Conflict: Looking Ahead (Eastern Mediterranean University Publishing, 2008).
